Job Description:
The OBD DDV Test Engineer is responsible for executing assigned OBD diagnostic demonstration programs which generate OBD emission results which are submitted to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to support OBD certification.
Responsibilities:
- Ordering test vehicles.
- Managing vehicle buildup, testing, and de-instrumentation.
- Generating test requests in the corporate test request system.
- Completing DDV testing following internally published best practices.
- Taking Vehicle Diagnostic scans for data collection.
- Facilitate the investigation of issues found during testing.
- Analyzing test data to ensure the data meets requirements.
- Document test results per process and review of results with colleagues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, MS Excel) and willing behavior of adherence to processes.
- Must be detail oriented, have good people skills, and be a self-starter.
- Understand regulatory certification related to OBD DDV emissions testing - Vehicle emissions testing
- Must have good communication and coordinating skills to manage multiple vehicle programs.
- Compile/review data and Prepare necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Ability to independently manage project objectives and activities.
- Experience with working in an automotive lab environment.
- Comfortable working with government employees.
- Experience with emission testing
- Experience setting OBD faults.
- Hybrid and/or Electric vehicle testing experience is a plus.
Additional Must Haves:
2 years experience in emissions testing role or similar
Driving Required: the position will require some movement of vehicle.
