PROTOTYPE VEHICLE TECHNICIAN


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and thorough inspections of vehicles to meet company standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Efficiently manage and complete work orders, including diagnosing and resolving vehicle issues using sophisticated diagnostic tools.
  • Document and maintain data collection from vehicles and communicate findings to engineers.
  • Remove, replace, and install vehicle components, including trims, parts, and modules, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and quality.
  • Install and modify wiring and cables for various vehicle systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to install, test, and calibrate new equipment and systems, providing technical support and insights.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all vehicles, ensuring they are clean and well-kept both internally and externally.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations using computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel to track vehicle histories and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist engineers with technical tasks and project execution, acting as a supportive liaison between maintenance and engineering departments.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a knowledgeable and skilled team.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years' experience as an automotive technician, with a proven track record in vehicle maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations.
  • High school diploma
  • Proficient in using automotive diagnostic tools and familiar with mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and working in demanding conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certification or degree in Automotive Technology
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effective collaboration and information exchange across different teams.
  • Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
